Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with experience in neuro, vascular thoracic, and orthopedic/spine cases to join a busy OR team on day shifts.

Details

• Work in a community hospital surgical services department with 12 operating rooms
• Day shifts consist of 4x10 hour shifts, 7:00am–5:00pm
• On-call required with two call shifts per week and weekend call every fifth weekend
• Float between different surgical service lines within the hospital
• Exposure to a variety of surgical cases including neuro surgery, vascular thoracic, and total joints; robotics experience is preferred
• Charting is done using Epic EMR, previous experience with Epic is preferred

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of recent, well-rounded CST experience
• NBSTSA certification required; NCCT certification not accepted
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Experience with neuro surgery, vascular thoracic, and orthopedic/spine (including total joints) required
• Experience with general surgery, urology, and GYN robotics preferred
• Radiation badge required; badge must be provided by the traveler’s agency
• Must not reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Must provide a valid driver's license and social security number for consideration
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• May be required to join emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November), with peak months in August and September
• All required orientation modules must be completed pre-start and are reported by the facility
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must have a separation of at least 1 year from the hospital system before returning as a traveler
• Requested time off must be submitted prior to consideration; requests after submission will not be accommodated
