American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist with strong orthopedic and robotics skills for an acute care OR setting.

Details

• Work in an acute care operating room with 6 suites and a high case volume of over 400 procedures per month
• Caring for both adult and pediatric patients with a focus on mainly outpatient procedures
• Common surgical specialties include orthopedics (total joints, sports med), general, ob/gyn, robotics, plastics, ENT, urology, hand/foot, and breast reconstruction
• Shift schedule includes 10-hour day shifts with one call shift per week and weekend call rotation
• Expected 6-7 call shifts per month and 2-3 weekend call rotations during a 13-week contract
• Orientation is 1-3 days and hospital-provided scrubs are required
• Epic EMR is used in the department

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist in an OR setting
• BLS certification required; CST certification preferred
• Must demonstrate competency in total joints, robotics, general laparoscopic, urology, hand/foot, and breast reconstruction cases
• Driver's license required for address verification against a 50-mile radius rule
• Candidates must not be currently employed (FT, PT, or PRN) at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility
• License required if applicable

• Must be willing to take call, including some short-notice requests, and be flexible with shift changes due to volume fluctuations
• Artificial nails are strictly prohibited in patient care areas
• RTO of 7 or fewer days must be requested up front; additional time off will not be approved
• Candidates may not have been employed (FT, PT, or PRN) by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year except through outside agencies
• References required: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify
