American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist - X-Ray with 2+ years of experience for an evening-shift contract at an advanced, Magnet®-designated academic medical center in Madison, WI.

Details

• Work setting includes adult acute care, adult outpatient, bedside/portable procedures, ED, and OR, with preferred experience in ICU, pediatric acute care, and pediatric outpatient settings
• Procedures include a comprehensive range of X-ray studies: chest, abdomen/GI, upper and lower extremity, spine and pelvis, trauma cases, fluoroscopy studies (arthrography, barium swallow, upper GI series), mobile/surgical imaging (C-arm, O-ARM, portable chest/abdomen), and enema studies
• Equipment includes GE, Siemens, O-ARM, and PACS systems
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Primary schedule is Monday–Friday, 5x8-hour evening shifts from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM
• May be scheduled on other days or shifts based on operational needs
• No regularly scheduled call, though call assistance may be requested based on staffing needs
• Travelers are the first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations within the organization based on staffing needs; if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be reassigned to another unit for the remainder of the contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of X-ray/radiology experience
• ARRT (R) and BLS required; BLS must be certified through the American Heart Association only
• State license required if applicable
• Community hospital experience required
• Level I and II trauma experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on work experience

Additional Information

• Performs a wide range of radiographic procedures including routine, trauma, portable, fluoroscopic, and surgical imaging across multiple body regions
• Skills include radiation safety, infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and preparation and/or administration of contrast media
• Pass/fail telemetry testing is required prior to start, with strict passing criteria and a maximum of three attempts — failure to pass after three attempts may result in contract cancellation
• Adult telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms (V-fib, V-tach, asystole), no incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart block questions, and an overall passing score of 80% or higher
• Pediatric telemetry exam requires identification of V-fib, V-tach, asystole, and sinus bradycardia with a passing score of 80% or higher
• Orientation is held every other week and is approximately one week in duration; travelers should follow the start date and time provided in their welcome letter
• The facility is a Magnet®-designated academic medical center and is ranked the #1 hospital in Wisconsin
• RTO is generally limited to no more than 2 weeks per contract; requests exceeding 1 consecutive week may result in an extension added to the end of the contract
• Weekend rotations and some holiday coverage will be required
