American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with CVOR experience for a 13-week travel contract in a hospital cardiovascular OR setting in Saint Louis, MO.

• Hospital cardiovascular OR (CVOR) setting
• Day shift schedule, 4x10s: 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with no weekend hours
• On-call requirements as needed
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Epic EMR experience is not required for this position
• Surgical/OR patient population with a focus on cardiovascular cases

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of surgical tech experience, with at least 1 year of recent specialty experience
• OR experience with cardiovascular/heart cases required
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable; must be active and not expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled
• A valid U.S. Social Security Number is required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
• High school diploma required; some college preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
• No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Works under the supervision of the physician/RN and reports to the Director/Manager to coordinate all supplies and instrumentation needed to perform surgical procedures per established policies and procedures
• Responsible for the disposition and/or decontamination of instruments and supplies in the surgical center
• Assists the RN with patient care planning, interventions, and outcomes
• Must be able to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Black scrubs are required
• Flu vaccination is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; exemptions must be client-approved
• Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
• Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at this facility; after that, a minimum 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
