American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with orthopedic total joint, orthopedic trauma, and neuro/cranial experience for a 13-week OR assignment at an acute care hospital in Nebraska.

Details

• Acute care hospital OR with 11 suites averaging 18 cases per day
• Common case types include orthopedics, urology, ENT, and neuro (backs and craniotomies)
• Robotic and navigation technology in use including Da Vinci, Mako, Stealth, and Scopis
• 8-hour day shifts beginning at 0700, Monday through Friday, with a consistent week-to-week schedule
• One weeknight call shift per week from end of shift until 0700 the following morning
• Three weekend call days per month on 24-hour shifts
• Holiday call coverage required as needed
• Call response time of 15 minutes required
• No floating requirements
• Epic EMR used in this position

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of surgical tech experience required
• Orthopedic total joint and orthopedic trauma experience required
• Neuro/cranial experience required, including the ability to independently scrub cranial procedures
• Ability to scrub all assigned cases is required
• BLS certification required; active and non-pending at time of consideration
• CST credential preferred but not required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Active state license required if applicable — pending licenses will not be accepted
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• One week of unit-specific orientation provided
• A manager and charge nurse are present on each shift; the charge nurse does not take a room assignment
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to remove artificial nails may result to contract termination
• Travelers must be flexible with scheduling; block scheduling and matched schedules for travel duos will not be approved
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit or CHI/Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
• Candidates in Nebraska must maintain a permanent residence of at least 50 miles from the facility, as determined by driver's license address
