American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR Tech/Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of OR experience, including neuro and robotics, for a fast-paced hospital Surgical Services position.

Details

• Work in a hospital Main OR and OR North within the same facility, with 16 total OR beds (10 in Main OR, 6 in OR North)
• Patient population spans pediatrics to adults across a wide range of specialties including neuro, trauma, vascular, surgical oncology (Whipple), general, urology, GYN, thoracic, robotics, ENT, ortho/ortho trauma, podiatry, dental, plastics, and breast
• CVOR cases are performed at the facility but are not required as part of this role
• 1:1 patient ratio
• DaVinci XI robotic system in use; experience required
• EMR: Meditech (preferred); Pyxis medication dispensing
• 10-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
• Float between Main OR and OR North within the same facility
• Weekend call only: one weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday, 0700–1900 or 1900–0700)
• One overnight call shift per week from end-of-shift to 0700
• 30-minute call response time required; no sleep rooms available
• Holiday on-call coverage may be required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of OR experience required
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Neuro (spinal fusions, craniotomies) and robotics experience required
• Ortho/trauma experience required
• BLS certification required
• NCCT or CST credential required
• Experience with the full range of patient types and cases listed above
• Last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth (month and day) required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Scrub the full spectrum of surgical specialties, with particular emphasis on neuro and robotic-assisted cases
• Responsibilities include draping the robot and exchanging instruments in robotic arms
• Unit support includes a non-assignment Charge Nurse, CSTs, FAs, RNs, surgeons, anesthesiologists (no CRNAs), two anesthesia techs covering multiple areas, and management
• Orientation is up to one week
• Schedule is made one month at a time and distributed one month in advance
• Time-off requests must go through the manager for approval
• Procedural scrubs are provided
