American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVOR position requiring at least 2 years of CVOR experience, prior travel assignment completion, and a DC RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a CVOR unit within a hospital environment
• Cardiovascular procedures performed include CABG, LVAD/RVAD, mitral valve replacement, and TAVR
• Vascular procedures include Endovascular Aneurysm Repair and TEVAR
• General surgery procedures include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, thyroidectomy, and Whipple
• Scrubbing experience is preferred in addition to circulating
• Transplant procedures (heart, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, intestinal, organ donation) are preferred skills
• Robotic surgery experience preferred, including cardiothoracic robotic surgery and da Vinci Si Surgical System
• Shift options: 3x12 or 4x12 hours; day shift 0630–1900 or evening shift 1100–2330
• On-call requirement: 6 calls per 6-week schedule
• One weekend or holiday shift required per 6-week schedule
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and eligible for a reduced rate

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required; a pending DC license is accepted provided the candidate has already applied and obtains the license prior to start
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required, including circulating experience
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment required
• General surgery OR experience required

Additional Information

• Candidate responsibilities include circulating in cardiovascular, vascular, and general surgery cases
• Float to general surgery may be required when cardiovascular cases are not scheduled
• If floating occurs during an evening shift, on-campus parking is available — no shuttle required
• Flu vaccine is required for all staff
• Nurses with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for a minimum of one year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• RTO of no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Two supervisor references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration
