American Traveler is seeking a licensed RN specializing in Behavioral Health / Psychiatry for a 13-week night shift travel contract at an inpatient psychiatric hospital in Holyoke, MA.

Details

• Inpatient behavioral health hospital setting with 104 beds across five units
• Patient population includes adults, geriatric, and pediatric patients (ages 5-17)
• Common diagnoses include schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety
• Patient ratio is 1:8 (variable); geriatric and pediatric units maintain lower ratios
• 2 adult units with 24 beds each, 24-bed geriatric unit, and 12-bed pediatric unit
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• No block scheduling
• Floating required
• EMR: Cerner

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required
• ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting
• Must be willing to work with both adult and pediatric patient populations
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher from an accredited program required
• Social Security number required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of psychiatric patients through the nursing process
• Develops individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Communicates changes in patient condition to physicians, nursing supervisors, and colleagues as appropriate
• Participates in discharge planning
• Supervised by shift supervisors only
• Blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
