Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week LTC/SNF travel assignment at a geriatric psychiatric facility in Canistota, SD, requiring a BSN, PCC experience, and a South Dakota or compact RN license.

Details

• Long-term care and skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) setting with 55 beds
• Geriatric patient population including dementia, and a behavioral health program serving patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia
• Day shift: approximately 1:23 nurse-to-patient ratio; overnight shift: approximately 1:45
• A med aide is present from 6:00 AM–10:00 AM; one nurse covers from 10:00 PM–6:00 AM
• 12-hour block scheduling, day shift (6:00 AM–6:30 PM)
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holidays falling within your block schedule are required
• EMR: PointClickCare (PCC)
• No on-call or call-back responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license in South Dakota or a compact state currently in hand
• BSN required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• PointClickCare (PCC) experience preferred
• LTC/SNF experience required; geriatric psychiatric or psych LTC experience strongly preferred

Additional Information

• Orientation includes a facility tour, competency review, and the opportunity to shadow 1–2 shifts
• Most skilled and clinical charting is completed during the day shift
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are subject to local pay rates
