American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with robotics and orthopedic experience for a hospital OR position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in a community hospital general OR setting
• Cases include General, Ortho, Ortho/Spine, Ortho/Total Joints, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Vascular, Neuro, Gyn, Neuro/Spine, and ENT
• Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics, with approximately 5-10% pediatric cases
• Uses the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System for robotic cases including colorectal, GI, gynecologic, and urologic procedures
• Uses specialized equipment including crash cart, electrosurgical units, cell saver, drills, fiber optic equipment, and case carts
• Epic EMR experience required
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, days, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (5x8s)
• Float to other system campuses may be required as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience required
• Robotics experience required, specifically with the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Orthopedic surgical experience required
• BLS certification required
• NCCT or NBSTSA certification strongly preferred but not required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in aseptic technique required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• License required if applicable
• A current driver's license is required for consideration
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Additional Information

• Perform scrub and instrument technician duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, neuro/spine, urology, plastics, trauma, podiatry, and general surgery
• Apply aseptic technique, universal protocol (time out), sharps safety, laser safety, radiation safety, and isolation precautions
• Manage specimen handling and labeling, instrument processing, and equipment documentation
• Pediatric ENT and dental experience noted in work setting; peds experience is a plus but not required
• Facility maintains a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• Education verification through a third-party is required; credentials from institutions on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list will not be accepted
• Background checks with open cases will not be accepted
• Any requested time off must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; RTO requests submitted afterward will not be accepted
• Orientation includes non-billable online modules averaging 2–4 hours, completed during orientation
