American Traveler is hiring a Travel Ultrasound Technologist for a 13-week contract at a Level II Trauma facility, working 4x10 evening shifts with on-call rotation requirements.

Details

• Works in a 286-bed Level II Trauma hospital performing inpatient, outpatient, and ER ultrasound cases
• General ultrasound unit covering abdominal, OB, small parts, kidney, and vascular studies
• Approximate caseload of 15 cases per technologist per shift
• 4x10 evening shifts, Monday through Thursday, 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM
• On-call rotation required with full-time technologists; on-call coverage Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM if a technologist calls out
• No floating between service lines or sister facilities
• Epic EMR (experience preferred)
• Radiation badge required and must be supplied by the agency prior to start

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of ultrasound technologist experience
• Current BLS (AHA only) required
• ARRT (S) or ARDMS certification required
• SC license required if applicable; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered, but must be fully licensed before starting
• Proficiency with PACS, portable ultrasound equipment, and ultrasound procedures
• Scanning competency in general abdominal, OB, small parts, kidney, and vascular studies required
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; local candidates are accepted on a case-by-case basis and the facility prioritizes non-local candidates first
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on facility needs
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
• Teal top and black bottom scrubs required
• Free parking is available on-site
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
• Block scheduling may be requested prior to assignment but is not guaranteed
