American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience and proficiency in General, Orthopedic, and Plastics surgery for a community hospital OR position in Novato, CA.

• Community hospital General OR setting
• Surgical specialties include General, Orthopedic, Plastics, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Podiatry, ENT, Urology, and Robotics (Mako System)
• Ortho Spine experience is preferred
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (6:45–17:15), with Friday coverage required
• On-call nights and weekends may be required
• Epic EMR experience is preferred

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience required
• Experience with General, Orthopedic, and Plastics surgery required; Ortho Spine experience preferred
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required
• CA state license required if applicable
• 2 supervisor references from within the last year required for consideration
• 7-year work history verification required

• Surgical specialties supported include a broad range of procedures across Orthopedics (ACL reconstruction, total joint replacement, spinal fusion), General Surgery (laparoscopic, hernia, cholecystectomy), Plastics (free flap, microvascular, breast augmentation), Gynecology, Neurosurgery (cervical and lumbar fusions, laminectomy), Urology, ENT, and Podiatry
• Robotic surgical support includes the Mako Surgical System for orthopedic procedures
• Required professional skills include aseptic technique, universal protocol (time out), sharps safety, radiation safety, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Equipment proficiency expected includes electrosurgical units, multiple drill types, case carts, crash carts, and high-level disinfectant (HLD); cell saver experience is preferred
• Sterile processing knowledge, including decontamination and sterilization processes, is expected
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; local candidates are accepted
• Former employees or travelers must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning
• Only one holiday RTO request will be approved for this assignment
• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded; 2 years of experience is the primary eligibility requirement
