American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with strong Neuro/ENT specialty experience for an evening-shift OR position at a Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, WI.

Details

• Hospital-based Surgery Room in Milwaukee, WI with 21 OR beds
• Level III Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility, also designated as a Primary Stroke Center
• Patient population spans Neuro/ENT, Orthopedic, General (Breasts/Plastics), Vascular, Laparoscopic, General Oncology, GU, and GYN specialties
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Evening shift, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM, 40 hours per week
• On-call requirements include B/C slots (7:30 PM–10:30 PM and 10:30 PM–7:00 AM), with approximately 8–9 B slots and 2–3 C slots per 8-week scheduling window, plus 1–2 weekend call assignments (Saturday and Sunday, 24 hrs) per 8-week schedule
• Cross-training across all main OR specialties and urology center; no floating to other hospitals
• Charting via Epic; Alaris and Pyxis also used
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience with a strong Neuro/ENT specialty background
• Proficiency in Neuro procedures including craniotomy, EVD setup, and spine surgery required
• BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Active license required if applicable
• One professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required for consideration
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Candidate middle name or initial required for consideration

Additional Information

• Scrubs are provided by the facility; scrub caps must be covered by a surgical bouffant
• Orientation is approximately 1 to 1.5 weeks, subject to change based on unit and shift needs
• Team support includes Charge Nurses, Leads, and Supervisors
• First-time travelers are not recommended for this position and would require additional evaluation from the hiring supervisor
• Holiday coverage expectations are subject to discussion with the hiring supervisor
• Free parking is available; evening shift staff park in an attached lot
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius requirements
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for this travel assignment
