American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with at least 1 year of experience and ARDMS or CCI certification for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Located within an 865-bed Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma academic teaching hospital
• Echo lab setting serving adult acute care patients, with potential exposure to outpatient, ED, and ICU environments
• Daily caseload of 7–8 studies for 8-hour shifts and 8–9 studies for 10-hour shifts
• Procedures include 2D echo, 3D echo, color Doppler, bubble studies, M-mode, portable studies, imaging with contrast agents, RVIT/RVOT, diastology, Simpson's Rule, LV strain/LV volume calculations
• Varying 5x8-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Weekend requirement of 1–2 weekends per month (Saturday–Sunday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM)
• On-call required: approximately 2–3 weekday call shifts per month and 2 weekend call shifts every other month
• Floating may be required to a sister downtown campus
• Charting performed in Epic

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer
• Active ARDMS RDCS (AE) or CCI RCS/RVS certification required
• Current AHA BLS required
• Proficiency in adult echo, 2D echo, color Doppler, portable studies, imaging with contrast agents, RVIT/RVOT required
• 3D echo, bubble studies, M-mode, and adult outpatient/ED/ICU experience preferred
• SSN and valid Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• License required if applicable
• Radiation badge required (must be provided by agency)

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• New travelers will orient with a full-time employee for 1 week before working independently
• Online modules must be completed prior to the assignment start date
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Parking is free during weekdays; a one-time $20 parking pass fee applies for nights and weekends
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate; local candidates within 60 miles will be considered but are given lower priority
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be disclosed at the time of consideration; RTO submitted after that point will not be accepted
• Travelers should be aware that all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November), with peak activity in August and September
