American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Tech with a minimum of 5 years of CVOR experience for a 13-week travel contract at a Level 1 Trauma, academic teaching hospital operating room.

Details

• Hospital-based OR setting with 20 OR rooms and 2 Cystoscopy suites at a 637-licensed-bed Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital
• Patient population includes cardiovascular cases (open heart surgery, valve replacement, vascular surgery), general surgery (GYN, plastics, ENT, robotics, colorectal), orthopedics (hip, knee, shoulder replacement, sports med, orthopedic trauma), ortho spine, and neurosurgery (neuro spine and brain tumor removal)
• 10-hour day shifts, 7a–5p, 40 hours per week
• On-call required approximately 6–9 shifts per month, including holiday call coverage
• 6-week scheduling cycle with a weekend call rotation
• EMR: Epic Optime (Intraop); additional equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of CVOR experience required; minimum 2 years of general OR experience required for non-CVOR roles
• BLS certification required
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program required
• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) credential preferred
• Active license required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on experience
• Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
• RTO requests must be approved by a leader
• Facility provides one week of hospital orientation
• Scrubs required in surgical green; a scrub exchange system is in place
• Free parking is available across from the hospital; covered parking deck available for a nominal fee per pay period
