American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a mixed Cardiovascular Unit position requiring cardiac and stepdown/PCU experience, with AHA-certified BLS and ACLS.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital cardiovascular unit located in a newer tower
• 24-bed mixed unit: 12 Step-Down and 12 Med-Surg beds
• Patient population includes cardiac rehab, pre/post cardiac procedures, and cardiac stabilizations
• Responsibilities include chest tube management, drip management, cardiac monitoring, and EKG interpretation
• Bedside monitors in rooms
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or eNLC compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Cardiac unit experience with stepdown/PCU experience required
• Familiarity with chest tubes and IV drips required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting patient physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and collaborating on discharge planning
• May be asked to interpret EKGs, monitor cardiac rhythms and rates, and collaborate with cardiac rehab and education teams
• Candidates who have previously worked at this health system must complete a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply, as workers are permitted only one extension for a total of 26 weeks
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — onboarding processes including drug screens, background checks, and medical requirements must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer
