American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float pool Med/Surg Telemetry position in Tucson, AZ, requiring telemetry experience and a willingness to float across multiple units and facilities.

Details

• Day shift position, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Float pool position requiring willingness to float across Med/Surg (Ortho/Neuro), Telemetry, and potentially PCU units
• Candidates may also be assigned to care for admitted patients in the ED holding area awaiting an inpatient bed
• Occasional floating to sister facilities is possible but rare
• Typically assigned to one unit per shift; reassignment mid-shift is a rare occurrence
• Patient ratios are 1:6 on Med/Surg and Telemetry units; 1:4–5 in the ED holding area
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• 13-week contract
• EMR: Cerner

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact license accepted (must be currently in hand; pending licenses not accepted for this position)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the start date)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required, with at least 1 year in Med/Surg Telemetry specifically
• Telemetry experience is required — candidates without it will not be considered
• Cerner EMR experience
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• US Social Security Number required

• Responsible for shift accountability including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using the Nursing Process
• Demonstrates critical thinking and clinical leadership in anticipating and planning for safe patient care delivery
• Delegates patient care priorities based on staff education and experience and provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local travelers accepted
• Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible
• RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
