American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU/Stepdown position at a children's hospital in Illinois, requiring an active IL RN license and hands-on experience with vents, trachs, and G-tubes.

Details

• Inpatient pediatric unit in a children's hospital setting with 39 beds serving all specialties
• Patient population ranges from 2 weeks to 18 years of age, primarily children with chronic illness and technology dependence (50-60% of patients)
• Unit focuses on chronic care — no drips, surgical, or transitional patients
• Common cases include tracheostomies with chronic ventilators, G-tube patients, and medically complex pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 (1:4 ratio experience required)
• Charting via Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule: 4x12 hours, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling can be accommodated

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required — compact RN licenses are not accepted in Illinois; pending licenses are accepted
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• PICU experience preferred
• Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, and G-tubes required
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio experience required
• Meditech EMR experience required
• Flu vaccine required (medical and religious exemptions accepted)
