Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position at an ambulatory surgery center, requiring ACLS and PALS certifications and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Details

• Ambulatory surgery center setting specializing in ophthalmic and other surgical procedures
• PACU (Phase 1 recovery) unit with a patient population ranging from 6 months to 95 years of age
• Familiarity with surgical eye cases strongly preferred, including cataracts, cornea, retina, glaucoma, and plastics procedures
• Day shift, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week (40 hours/week)
• Strong IV skills required, including initiating, regulating, and monitoring IV infusions and blood products
• Proficiency in instilling prescribed pupil-dilating drops and performing patient interviews and assessments

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Ability to manage airways and treat pain and nausea in post-surgical patients
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include Phase 1 PACU recovery, patient monitoring, pain and nausea management, and airway management
• Works closely with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Delegates tasks to support staff and collaborates within a fast-paced team environment
• Candidates who have previously worked at this health system must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply; contracts are limited to one extension for a total of 26 weeks
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screen, background check, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of offer
