American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Perinatal Float Pool Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 2 years of combined L&D and Postpartum experience and an active CA RN license.

Details

• Perinatal Float Pool position rotating across three perinatal units: Labor & Delivery (Jacobs Medical Center), Postpartum (Jacobs Medical Center), and LDRP (Hillcrest)
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• One additional OT shift per two-week pay period (7 shifts total) may be required based on unit needs
• Uses Cerner EMR
• No blocked scheduling or self-scheduling

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of combined L&D and Postpartum experience with demonstrated competency in both areas — this is a hard requirement
• Cerner EMR experience required
• At least 1 year of acute care experience required
• Specialty experience within the 2 years preceding consideration required
• Must pass a pass/fail EKG exam (3 attempts allowed)
• At least one supervisory/director/manager reference from within the past year from a relevant unit is required

Additional Information

• Candidates must be cross-trained and clinically competent in both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care to rotate among all three perinatal units
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction
• No RTO (time off requests) permitted within the first 2 weeks of the assignment; all RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and cannot be changed once submitted
• Candidates who have previously been employed by UCSD must receive UCSD approval prior to starting an assignment
• Former employees must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
