American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in Austin, TX, requiring a minimum of 3 years of perioperative RN experience in a high-volume hospital setting.

Details

• 28-bed PACU unit providing Phase I and II recovery for patients undergoing surgery and invasive procedures from the OR, cath lab, radiology, and endoscopy
• Supplemental assignments in the 72-bed Perioperative Care unit for Phase II recovery and discharge planning for outpatients
• High-volume unit caring for an average of 70–90 patients daily on weekdays, ranging from ambulatory procedures to complex cardiovascular, orthopedic, spine, and robotic surgeries
• 10-hour day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM–8:30 PM, based on unit need at time of contract start
• No on-call, weekend, or holiday requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of recent, full-time experience as a Perioperative Care Center RN in a high-volume hospital setting
• Demonstrated proficiency in postoperative and post-procedure phases of patient care (Phase I and Phase II recovery)
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment with minimal onboarding
• Verifiable references from previous relevant experience required for consideration
• Valid US Social Security Number and US home address required
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Evaluates patients' responses to treatment and interventions and manages pain in accordance with ASPAN standards
• Anticipates surgical and procedural-specific needs based on knowledge of procedures performed and patient pathophysiology
• Candidates requiring extensive onboarding or with less than the minimum required experience will not be considered
