American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position in an acute care hospital setting, requiring a WA or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of GI/Endo experience.

Details

• GI/Endoscopy Lab within an acute care hospital setting, with 2 suites
• Common cases include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and EUS
• Patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:3
• Responsibilities include admissions (procedures every 30-45 minutes), Phase II recovery (post-propofol sedation, no intubated patients), documentation, and bedside procedures on inpatients
• Endoscopy Techs are present and primarily support scope room areas
• Charting in Epic and Provation (Epic experience required)
• Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts Monday through Friday with common start times of 0600, 0630, 0700, and 0730
• Primarily based at one location with potential to float to two additional sister facilities
• No mandatory on-call or weekend requirements, though standby for low census is possible with a 1-hour response time
• No floating requirements within the unit

Requirements

• Active WA state or Compact (NLC) RN license required — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
• COVID vaccine required
• Minimum 2 years of GI/Endoscopy RN experience required
• Proficiency with peripheral IV starts required
• Epic EMR experience required
• A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• BSN not required

Additional Information

• Experience with ERCP and EUS assisting is preferred but not required, as this facility supports advanced procedures
• Procedure assist duties may be limited if additional training would be required
• Conscious sedation is reserved for after-hours and weekend cases and is not a primary responsibility of this role
• Orientation is 3–6 days as needed
• Any professional scrub colors are acceptable
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
