Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring an active IN or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Floating required to Med-Surg and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Charting is done in Cerner (experience required)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration — pending licenses are not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA and RQI formats accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• RN degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Indiana residents are not eligible for this position (IN RNs are not permitted at IU Health facilities for PCU roles)

• Local candidates (Indiana residents) are not accepted for this PCU position
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break
