American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Vascular Access Team position requiring demonstrated proficiency in peripheral IV insertion and ultrasound-guided IV placement, with prior travel nursing experience preferred.

Details

• Hospital-based Vascular Access Team role with facility-wide coverage, requiring extensive walking throughout the facility
• Adult vascular access procedures are the primary focus; pediatric experience is preferred but not required
• Clinical skills include peripheral IV insertions, ultrasound-guided IV placement, and routine central line care (dressing changes, troubleshooting, declotting, and port access)
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• 1–2 completed travel assignments required
• Demonstrated proficiency in peripheral IV insertion, including ultrasound-guided IV placement
• Experience at a facility with 500+ beds required
• Candidates without dedicated vascular access team experience may be considered with recent IV placement experience from ED, ICU, Pre-Op, or Labor & Delivery settings
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include peripheral IV insertions, ultrasound-guided IV placements, and central line maintenance tasks such as dressing changes, troubleshooting, declotting, and port access
• Orientations are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Pediatric vascular access experience is preferred but not required
