American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week travel contract in an acute care hospital setting, requiring Cerner proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of OR/CVOR experience.

Details

• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Facility runs up to 9-10 OR rooms per day, including 2 dedicated heart rooms, averaging 23-25 cases daily
• Case types include general surgery, vascular, orthopedic, endoscopy, urology, and open heart surgery — trauma cases are not a primary focus but do occur
• 12-hour day shifts
• Every other weekend requirement (with potential to shift to every 3rd or 4th weekend once fully staffed)
• Minimum 2 nights of call per 4-week schedule; RN call runs from 1830 to 0600
• CVOR RNs may float to the Main OR as needed; no floating outside of the OR
• Cerner EMR — experience required
• Tech support and charge nurse available on the unit

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR or OR experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Ability to work in the general OR in addition to CVOR is preferred
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• All required onboarding modules must be completed prior to arrival — no exceptions
• RNs are required to pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam before an offer can be confirmed
• On the first day of orientation, RNs will take a pass/fail sterile technique test covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Local candidates are accepted
