American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center in Texas, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and multiple certifications including TNCC.

Details

• Work setting is a 379-bed short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center
• Emergency Department (ER) unit
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
• No on-call requirements
• No floating between units within the department, however travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state
• EMR: Epic (required)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or Compact RN license
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience (hard requirement, no exceptions)
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Active RN license required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Travelers who refuse float assignments to other in-state facilities risk termination of their assignment
• Minimal RTO is expected; limited time off may be approved but significant RTO requests may impact candidacy
• RTO or scheduling requests must be disclosed at the time of submission — post-offer requests may be denied
• Licensed nursing personnel (RN) are required to wear solid navy blue scrubs; print tops are not permitted
