American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with Level 1 trauma experience for a day shift OR position at a major Level 1 trauma center in Portland, ME.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room with 40+ beds and multiple surgical specialties
• General Surgery focus with exposure to EGS, burns, trauma, thoracic, and liver surgeries
• DaVinci Robotics (Intuitive Robot) utilized; additional equipment includes Storz, Stryker, and Olympus
• EMR: Epic
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (10-hour shifts)
• Weekend requirement of 1:4 weekends on 12-hour shifts
• On-call requirement includes one overnight trauma call (11 PM – 7 AM); specialty team call schedules vary by team (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• CST certification required; license required if applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of OR experience, with at least 2–3 years of Level 1 trauma center experience required
• BLS certification required
• Level 1 trauma experience is a must-have
• Proficiency with General Surgery, Pediatrics, DaVinci Robotics, Burns, and HIPEC preferred
• Experience in GU/GYN, Ortho trauma, ortho joints, Neurosurgery, ENT, Plastics, Dental, and Endovascular preferred
• Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Teal scrubs are issued by the facility
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different bill rate
• Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• Float policy: candidates may be required to float between facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed
• Travel pairs or groups are not permitted for this assignment
• Airpods, laptops, and personal cell phone use are prohibited on the unit
