American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a CVOR position requiring at least 2 years of neurosurgery experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Surgical/General OR unit within a Level II Trauma Center
• Cardiovascular operating room performing a variety of surgical specialties including general, ortho, plastics, urology, ENT and vascular procedures
• Ortho trauma cases require strong experience
• Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• CVOR experience required
• Minimum of 2 years of neurosurgery experience required
• Strong ortho trauma experience needed
• General, ortho, plastics, urology, ENT and vascular surgery experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program required
• BLS certification from the AHA required
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential or LVN/LPN license required (if applicable)
• Ability to proficiently scrub in 3 specialty areas such as transplants, open heart, urology, neurology, titanium rib, or robotics is highly preferred

Additional Information

• Prepares patients for surgery, including skin prep, positioning, and transport to and from the OR suite
• Establishes and maintains the sterile field, passes instruments and sutures to the physician, and assists as directed
• Utilizes physician preference cards to prepare cases and set up the OR
• Maintains aseptic technique and monitors for potential breaches throughout procedures
• Works collaboratively as part of the surgical team under the direction of a professional nurse
• Maintains a safe environment through proper traffic control, dress code adherence, and OR sanitation practices
• Demonstrates knowledge of instrument decontamination, processing, and sterilization procedures
• Adapts patient care approaches to meet population-specific and developmental needs
• Located at a teaching hospital affiliated with a university health science center
• Facility is an accredited Chest Pain Center and Joint Commission Stroke Team site
• Radius requirement of 50 miles applies for local candidate consideration
• Returning employees must have a 6-month separation period from any facility within the health system before being considered for a new travel assignment
