American Traveler is hiring a Registered EEG Technologist for a travel assignment supporting adult and pediatric EEG services at a busy academic medical center, requiring current ABRET R. EEG T. credential and 1-2+ years of independent EEG experience.

Details

• Supports inpatient and outpatient EEG services within an academic medical center's Neurodiagnostics department
• Performs routine, ambulatory, urgent, and continuous EEG monitoring, including ICU bedside studies
• Serves adult and pediatric patient population of all ages
• Outpatient setting includes 4 exam rooms with a caseload of 4+ patients per day
• Uses Natus NeuroWorks EEG equipment and documents in Epic EMR
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 40-48 hours per week
• May include rotation between inpatient and outpatient settings with day, evening, or weekend coverage as needed
• No call requirements
• Float policy applies within a 25-mile radius between facilities as needed

Requirements

• Current R. EEG T. credential from ABRET required
• Minimum 1-2 years of independent EEG experience in a hospital or acute-care setting required
• ICU or continuous monitoring experience preferred
• Advanced pediatric EEG experience required
• Ambulatory EEG experience with paste, tape, and wrap method required
• Strong technical skills with ability to independently troubleshoot equipment issues
• Experience with Epic EMR
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform high-quality routine, ambulatory, and inpatient EEG studies in accordance with ACNS and ASET standards
• Ensure accurate electrode application using the international 10-20 system and specialized montages as required
• Recognize and document clinically significant EEG patterns and events while collaborating with neurologists and epilepsy providers
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for patients with complex neurological and critical-care needs
• Maintain equipment and troubleshoot technical issues in accordance with facility safety and compliance standards
• Support learners in the facility's EEG training program as needed
• Scrubs of any color or pattern are acceptable
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Candidates who have worked at the facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
• Local candidates within 90 miles of the facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) are eligible but considered local for pay purposes
• Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
