American Traveler is hiring a Monitor Technician for a telemetry unit, requiring travel experience and a minimum of one year of experience with cardiac monitoring.

Details

• Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Responsibilities include continuous cardiac monitoring of patients connected to telemetry units
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Monitor Technician or in a related telemetry role
• Travel experience required
• Active RN license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretation and ECG tracings
• Good computer skills and ability to build effective working relationships with clinical staff
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Monitor patient cardiac rhythms once nursing staff have attached patients to the telemetry unit
• Responsibilities include maintaining appropriate alarm settings, providing daily rhythm strip printings, and verifying accurate date/time on printouts
• Perform ECGs as needed and assist in troubleshooting monitor equipment
• Alert clinical staff immediately when a patient is in crisis
• Maintain supplies for the monitor area
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 total weeks before being eligible for another contract (one extension maximum)
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon offer
