American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with cardiac and vascular surgery experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.

• >Work in a hospital CVOR unit with 6 total ORs (4 standard ORs, 1 hybrid OR, 1 PV suite)
• >Perform cardiac surgery cases including CABG (on/off pump), AVR, MVRR, TVRR, aortic aneurysm/dissection repair, total artificial heart, heart transplant, LVAD implantation, minimally invasive valve replacement, and trans-catheter mitral/aortic/tricuspid valve replacement
• >Perform vascular surgery cases including endovascular and open procedures such as AAA repair, thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysm repair with fenestrated grafts, endarterectomy, peripheral artery bypass, amputation, and ECMO decannulation/repositioning
• >Preferred case experience includes general, endo/laparoscopic, vascular, thoracic, bariatric, and transplant surgery
• >Day shift scheduling with primary hours of 6:45 AM-3:15 PM or 9:30 AM-6:00 PM, with occasional 2:45 PM-11:15 PM shifts as needed
• >On-call requirements include up to 2 weekends per month, up to 2 weekdays per week, and holiday call as needed
• >Uses Epic/Excellian charting system
• >No floating to sister facilities required, though candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a CVOR surgical technology role
• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills in vascular procedures including AAA repair, aortobifemoral bypass, carotid endarterectomy, EVAR, femoral popliteal bypass graft, and TEVAR
• Skills in cardiovascular procedures including CABG, EVAR, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, TAVR, and VAD
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, instrument processing, sterilization/disinfection, and Universal Protocol time-out procedures
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Facility is a Short Term Acute Care, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level III Trauma status and 672 staffed beds
• Scrubs are provided by the facility for this position
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible, as local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Returning staff must have a gap of at least 3 months since their last shift worked as a perm employee (staff or per diem)
• RTO requests should ideally not exceed 5 days
• Support surgical teams in cardiovascular and vascular procedures including case cart and crash cart management
• Assist with specimen handling and labeling
