American Traveler is hiring a Senior Endoscopy Technician with 3+ years of experience and SGNA or CST certification for an outpatient GI/Endoscopy center position.

Details

• Work in a stand-alone outpatient Endoscopy Center with 3 procedure rooms
• Day shift schedule Monday-Friday, 0700-1530, with no weekends or holidays
• No on-call requirements
• No floating to sister facilities required
• Team includes 3 Gastroenterologists performing 34-36 procedures daily
• Patient population includes ASA classifications 1, 2, and 3
• Procedures include upper endoscopies, colonoscopies, polypectomy, biopsy, PEG placement, banding, balloon dilation, Bravo, and X-track
• Uses Olympus processors (CV-190), Olympus Light Source (CLV-190), Olympus 190 series scopes, CO2 insufflator with tanks and regulator, and Erbe electrosurgical cautery units
• Utilizes Olympus OER Pro for high-level disinfection scope reprocessing
• EPIC and ProVation experience preferred for charting

Requirements

• an endosocopy center or GI Lab
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an endoscopy center or GI Lab
• SGNA certification or CST (Certified Surgical Tech) program completion required
• Current BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Strong scope reprocessing skills required
• Experience with colonoscopes, EGD scopes, EBUS, EUS, enteroscopes, ERCP scopes, fiber optics, and flex sigmoidoscopes required
• Experience with back table set up and room setup preferred
• Prior travel healthcare experience required

Additional Information

• Perform procedural assistance including biopsies, procedure set up, and equipment handling for balloon dilators, endoscopes, ERBE units, forceps, and polyp snares
• Responsible for room turnover, closing of room at end of day, instrument processing and cleaning, and restocking room supplies
• Handle cleaning and care of scopes and instruments including high-level disinfection
• Perform specimen handling and labeling, including pathology specimens
• Follow infection control protocols and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
• This is a 13-week contract with potential for permanent hire at the facility
• Travelers at this facility often return and build lasting relationships with staff
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

• Facility may call off traveler up to 1 shift per pay period
