American Traveler is hiring a GI/Endoscopy Technician with 2+ years of experience and Epic/Provation proficiency for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care medical center.

Details

• Work in the Surgical Services GI/Endo unit of an acute care medical center
• 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with occasional variation
• No call and no weekend requirements
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Utilizes Epic and Provation for charting and procedure documentation
• Assists with procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, CRE balloon dilations, and esophageal foreign body removal
• Works with equipment such as colonoscopes, EGD scopes, enteroscopes, balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, ERBE coagulation instruments, forceps, and polyp snares
• Supports both inpatient and outpatient endoscopy center settings

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of GI/Endoscopy Tech experience
• BLS certification required
• SGNA and CER certifications required at time of consideration
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provation experience required
• BSN preferred
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Assist with procedural tasks including biopsies, specimen handling, and pathology specimen management
• Perform cleaning and care of scopes and instruments, including instrument processing and room turnover
• Restock supply room and carts as needed
• Follow infection control practices and Universal Protocol (time-out) procedures for all cases
• Use injection techniques with spot tattoo ink/lifting agents and hemostatic agents (clips and banders)
• Float within scope of practice as needed based on facility requirements
• Up to 40 hours of RTO may be approved per 13-week contract, with all time off disclosed at time of consideration
• Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
• Previous UVA Health employees (permanent staff or travelers) must disclose prior employment; a 1-year separation and leadership approval is required for eligibility
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
• Orientation includes specialty-specific training modules
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
